Organizations, Groups and Meet-ups:
The South African Vampi(y)re Alliance (SAVA) – The South African Vampi(y)re Alliance (SAVA) is a formalized expression of the South African Vampi(y)re Community (SA VC) founded and established in May 2011 by the collaboration of various individuals and Groups within South Africa. The Constitution of the SAVA basically gives the fledgling SA VC a united face, forming a High Council to achieve the aims laid out within the SAVA Constitution, consisting of nine Magisters of equal stature within the Community, each of whom is responsible for the membership of the SAVA residing within one of the nine provinces or Halos of South Africa. The SAVA is in essence the beginning of a more organized and formalized Community of real self-identified Vampi(y)res in South Africa.
House Valur was established on 13 February 2010 by Octarine Valur. House Valur is active both online and IRL, and has an informative blog, an active forum, and is a participating member group of the Dark Nations.
The South African Vampyre Culture Center ( SAVCC ) – Founded on 23 January 2012 in order to create and manage an open and public reference to South African Vampyre culture. Intended primarily for use by awakening or solitary Vampyres seeking the community, the resource also caters for use by Shinai and other non-Vampyres curious about Vampyres and Vampyre culture in South Africa. One of the main aims of the resource is to refer seekers to the community, and also to dispel misconceptions maintained by mundanes and general critics who are ignorant of Vampyres, what we are, what we do – what is true and false – and the ins and outs of our sub-culture.
The Vampyre History Project – The Vampyre History Project is an ongoing project of House Valur – and has been active since early 2010. The aim of the project is to compile as complete an historical overview in the form of a Chronology or Timeline of Vampy(i)res in history, myth, folklore and also in terms of the development of real Vampy(i)re culture and Community in the context of both ancient and modern history.
