What Is Awakening?

Within the Vampyre community it is a generally held belief that Vampyres are born Vampyres, not “turned” or made into Vampyres. Therefore, people who are born vampyric are often unaware of their nature until a certain point, most typically puberty or adolescence, where this sudden or even gradual revelation is known as Awakening.

Before Awakening, a vampyric person is called a “Latent” and may or may not display signs that they are Latent. In some circles, when a Vampyre awakens, they are called a “Neophyte” or “Neonate” or even somewhat patronizingly, a “baby Vampyre” or even “baby bat”, although the latter terms are sometimes employed with affection.

There are many theories around vampyric Awakening, and Vampyres being born. Most appear to conclude that by the time we Awaken, we use up our energy far too quickly to replace it, resulting in the manifestation of our vampyric nature.

Vampyres are seen as being incapable of naturally producing enough prana (or life-force energy) for themselves, resulting in various different adverse reactions which usually manifest in terms of ill-health and rampant subconscious feeding. Many theories abound, including the view that Vampyres typically have inherent imbalances in their energy-bodies or chakra system, and in some cases, even missing chakras. This can also explain why some gifted energy workers sometimes are able to identify us by our energy alone.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

Some claim that being a Vampyre is a religion, or a choice, or a product that can be packaged and sold for profit. The real Vampyre Community by contrast, holds the view that Vampyres are born, and that one who is vampyric may accept or reject their vampyric nature, but that being a Vampyre is beyond our choice. However, it must be noted that some religious groups around the world view the belief itself that we are Vampyres as a spirituality or “religion”.

There are groups which claim to be able to “turn” ordinary people into Vampyres, whether by means of a ritual or other magickal feat. For example, the internet abounds with “rituals” and “spells” intended to transform people into Vampyres. Some offer to send the respondent a special book, a spell kit or a vial of  “vampire blood” drawn on the full moon – for a fee of course – and this is supposed to turn the suc- I mean, victim into one of the “undead”. This is of course entirely fraudulent, fake, and casts a bad light on the already dodgy public image of the Vampyre Community.

Further, there are pseudo-spiritual groups run solely with the motive to generate profit from their members, preying on those desperate and gullible enough to want to believe that they really can become Vampyres – or that just subscribing to the group, buying the books and products, adopting the lifestyle or swallowing the liturgy they are spoon-fed really makes it true.

The simple fact is, anyone can claim to be a real Vampyre, but without the basic need of the Vampyre – the need to feed – these poor people are being conned out of their money – and the cults to which they flock are nothing more than an affront to our name, our culture and our nature.

If you are searching for a group to join, please take this into consideration. Real Vampyres know that they cannot turn others into Vampyres. Always make use of these common-sense references when evaluating a group you consider joining.
